Senior Legal Counsel
The Swedish Club. Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, corporate governance and/or regulatory matters .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, corporate governance and/or regulatory matters
- Lead and provide cross-functional support for the Club's contract management process
- Provide guidance on outsourcing under Solvency II
- Manage ICT agreements under DORA and advise on related risks
- Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical organisational guidance
- Develop and improve internal legal processes, policies and governance frameworks
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to insurance and financial services
- Advise relevant stakeholders on legal and regulatory developments
- Manage outside counsel relationships, advice and costs
- Provide operational support and legal mentoring within the Corporate Legal team
- Report to the Chief Legal Officer
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Master of Laws (LL.M.) or equivalent legal degree
- At least 10 years of relevant legal experience, gained from a law firm, an in-house legal function, or ideally, a combination of both
- Experience in corporate law and corporate governance
- Experience with regulatory compliance, preferably within insurance, financial services or another regulated industry
- Experience reviewing, drafting and advising on commercial contracts
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in an international organisation
- Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Hands-on experience or a curiosity to explore how AI can be applied in a legal context would be welcomed
- Proactive, collaborative and pragmatic approach
- Ability to combine legal expertise with willingness to understand the business
