About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of care for non-hospitalized or ambulatory patients
- Provide clinical supervision and direction
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain quality and safety outcomes
- Supervise personnel management and development
- Collaborate with department leadership, administration, nursing leadership, and liaison departments
- Achieve business and organizational goals, visions, and objectives
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support health system research activities
- Assist front and back office operations to identify and resolve patient-flow and care-delivery issues
- Manage staffing, personnel structure, productivity, and direction across assigned areas
- Supervise staff, evaluate performance, and conduct selection and termination processes
- Promote staff and self-development and ensure clinical teams work at the top of licensure/responsibility
- Develop patient-care standards, quality-improvement initiatives, safety initiatives, policies, and procedures
- Assess the environment and recommend improvements for patient comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Foster patient and employee satisfaction and promote shared decision-making
- Assist with budget development and monitoring; approve purchases and manage inventory quotes
- Collaborate with ambulatory-care nursing colleagues to optimize nursing-resource utilization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- High School Graduate
- 5 or more years of clinical experience in practice area
- Current active multistate RN license in good standing in the state in which you live, or active single-state RN license in good standing in the state you will be working with proof of application for a multistate RN license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) from the American Heart Association, or obtained within 14 days of hire
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Preferred: Master Degree Nursing
- Preferred: 1 or more years of nursing leadership
- Preferred: 2 or more years of management experience
- Preferred: Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center
- Preferred: Professional Nursing Certification
