About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support performance improvement initiatives for accreditation, regulatory compliance, professional certifications, and quality, safety, and value-based programs
  • Interact with disciplines to identify and respond to safety risks and improvement opportunities
  • Collect, validate, analyze, interpret, and submit internal and publicly reported metrics
  • Use incident reports, registries, and databases to monitor performance and develop recommendations
  • Facilitate small-scale interdisciplinary performance improvement groups
  • Participate in local, regional, and national employee and patient safety educational offerings and meetings
  • Educate individuals and groups about healthcare delivery risks, reporting hazardous conditions, quality improvement, and safety culture
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Work under the direction of the Quality and Safety Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate
  • Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, or Nursing, or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) multi-state license; State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse license in Kansas and Missouri required, if appropriate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
  • Ability to apply basic principles of safety science, process improvement, quality and patient safety measurement, project management, high reliability organizations, PDCA cycles, and A3 problem solving
  • Ability to solve simple problems, make decisions independently, and escalate concerns appropriately
