About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support performance improvement initiatives related to accreditation, regulatory compliance, professional certifications, and quality, safety, and value-based programs
  • Foster collaborative partnerships across disciplines to identify and respond to safety risks and improvement opportunities
  • Collect, validate, analyze, interpret, and submit internal and publicly reported metrics
  • Use incident reports, registries, and databases to monitor performance and recommend improvements
  • Apply safety science, process improvement, quality and patient safety measurement, project management, high reliability organization principles, PDCA cycles, and A3 problem solving
  • Solve simple problems, make independent decisions, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Facilitate small-scale interdisciplinary performance improvement groups
  • Participate in local, regional, and national employee and patient safety educational offerings and meetings
  • Educate individuals and groups about healthcare delivery risks, hazardous-condition reporting, quality improvement, and safety culture
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science, Nursing or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) multi-state license; Registered Nurse license in Kansas and Missouri required, if appropriate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
