About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and implement the Data QA strategy across data platforms and products
- Design and introduce scalable automated testing frameworks for data solutions
- Develop testing approaches for ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations, and integrations
- Create and maintain robust test data strategies and test scenarios
- Work with Data Engineering teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance across large datasets
- Lead root-cause analysis and help resolve data quality issues
- Mentor and coach QA Engineers and support their technical and professional development
- Drive best practice across automation, quality engineering, and test management
- Contribute to adoption of AI-enabled testing tools and modern engineering practices
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Architects, and Product teams
- Explore AI-assisted testing approaches to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience in Data QA, Data Testing, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles
- Strong experience testing modern data platforms, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes
- Excellent SQL skills for interrogating, validating, and troubleshooting complex datasets
- Experience building and implementing test automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of data quality principles, data validation techniques, and testing methodologies
- Experience working within cloud-based environments, ideally AWS
- Ability to create meaningful test data and define complex testing scenarios
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing other QA professionals
- Naturally curious mindset with a passion for identifying issues and improving quality
- Python experience, particularly for test automation, test data creation, or data validation activities (nice to have)
- Experience working within Lakehouse architectures and modern data platforms (nice to have)
- Required to undertake credit, CIFAS, and Right to Work checks; DBS check if specifically required
