About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations in Workday and Deel, including international payroll processing, timesheets, time-off administration, expense approvals, pension remittances, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Develop and improve payroll, benefits, HR, and workplace processes, procedures, controls, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with payroll and benefits regulations
  • Administer employee benefit programs
  • Partner on annual benefits initiatives, renewals, vendor evaluations, and employee engagement projects
  • Audit payroll, benefits, HR data, invoices, and related programs; resolve discrepancies
  • Process employee lifecycle changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
  • Validate tax withholdings, benefit elections, direct deposits, and other payroll or HR updates
  • Review, reconcile, and approve payroll, benefits, and workplace invoices and expenses
  • Source, evaluate, onboard, and manage vendors
  • Oversee day-to-day workplace operations and office facilities
  • Develop and manage workplace and employee experience programs
  • Plan and execute employee events and workplace initiatives
  • Lead facilities projects and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and office improvements
  • Monitor office utilization and manage workplace inventory
  • Support employees with payroll, benefits, and workplace-related questions
  • Build cross-functional relationships with People Operations, Finance, and other partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, People Operations, or a related HR operations function
  • Hands-on responsibility for payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Experience supporting payroll and/or benefits in the UK
  • Working knowledge of UK payroll and benefits compliance requirements, including payroll taxes, statutory benefits, pension requirements, and employment regulations
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee and payroll information accurately and confidentially
  • Employee service and communication skills
  • Experience managing external vendors and coordinating across internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines
  • Hands-on experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform is preferred
  • Experience supporting workplace operations, employee experience programs, facilities, events, or office vendors is a plus
  • Experience with global benefits programs, international payroll vendors, or EOR arrangements is a plus
  • Experience supporting a growing or scaling organization is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom
