About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report directly to Voleon’s Tax Manager
  • Support the tax function for Voleon’s flagship funds across complex, multi-entity structures
  • Perform first-level review of tax returns, Schedule K-1s, workpapers, and supporting schedules prepared by external advisors
  • Summarize and flag items for Tax Manager review
  • Maintain the tax compliance calendar, trackers, and supporting documentation across all entities
  • Flag deadlines for annual filings, registrations, and tax notices
  • Coordinate collection, tracking, and review of tax documents and related investor requests
  • Prepare ad-hoc special projects and tax-related requests from investors
  • Support tax process improvement through automation, documentation, and internal knowledge
  • Research tax issues and regulatory changes relevant to existing and future funds
  • Support the Fund Accounting team during the off-peak tax season
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Accounting, and Operations colleagues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of tax experience, preferably at a Big 4 or national accounting firm
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance for partnerships (Form 1065) preferred
  • Corporate tax experience (Forms 1120) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of partnership taxation and related reporting
  • Experience with both onshore (U.S.) and offshore (Cayman) fund structures is a plus
  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Authorization to work in the United States
