About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum
- Assess patients' physical condition and nursing needs using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies
- Develop and implement collaborative plans of care with patients and the interprofessional team
- Provide care within the assigned clinical specialty and perform professional RN functions
- Improve patient experience, streamline care processes, lower costs, and promote quality
- Contribute to mentoring, engagement, and development of expert clinicians
- Consult with physicians and interprofessional team members to problem solve and improve patient care
- Anticipate and proactively manage risk to prevent crises
- Perform skillfully in life-threatening emergencies and match demands and resources during crises
- Participate in treatment, research, education, and advocacy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
- Compliance with department-specific competencies
- Frequent phone communication with patients and staff
- Ability to work the stated variable Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with no weekends or holidays
