About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support core DevOps responsibilities with emphasis on Kubernetes administration and Site Reliability Engineering
  • Manage deployment, system uptime, performance, and observability across environments
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and production operations
  • Collaborate with developers and QA to create reliable deployment paths from local development to production
  • Manage self-hosted GitLab instances and ensure secure, performant operation
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar tools
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and maintenance using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or related technologies
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code practices across AWS, Kubernetes, bare-metal, and other environments
  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability systems
  • Respond to incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
  • Establish and evolve SLOs and SLIs for measurable system reliability
  • Participate in on-call rotation and build automation to reduce human intervention
  • Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Promote and install Helm packages in the appropriate production environment
  • Triage environment-specific issues and support cross-functional communication
  • Implement and enforce infrastructure security best practices, including IAM, RBAC, and least privilege
  • Design configuration management systems across environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies
  • Experience deploying and managing infrastructure using Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform, and/or Ansible
  • Solid knowledge of Linux system administration
  • Strong skills in Windows system administration environments
  • Proven experience managing and automating GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python or Bash
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions, including CloudWatch, Datadog, and CloudTrail
  • Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and high-availability system design
  • Familiarity with Git and GitLab workflows
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills, with a focus on automation and root cause analysis
  • AWS certification or equivalent practical experience preferred
  • CKA Kubernetes certification or equivalent practical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and efficiency practices preferred
  • Experience with self-hosted GitLab instances and CI/CD pipelines preferred
  • EKS or Rubix Cluster experience preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be willing and eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level
