About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the technical delivery of Azure integration projects from detailed design through build, testing, and handover
Make design decisions within the overall solution design and select appropriate Azure services and patterns
Build resilient solutions with resiliency, idempotency, error handling, dead-lettering, and monitoring
Design and build APIs using Azure API Management, including policies, security, and versioning
Implement security and operations concerns, including Entra ID, managed identities, private networking, and observability
Write code when required and solve complex issues
Lead and mentor the delivery team
Review designs and code and raise engineering capability
Contribute to scoping and estimation alongside architects and project managers
Collaborate with architects and customer stakeholders
Own the quality of delivered solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years delivering integration solutions on Azure, including time working as the technical lead on an impactful project
Deep production experience with Azure Integration Services: API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions
Strong knowledge of integration patterns and when to apply them
Experience making detailed design decisions and being accountable for how the solution behaves in production
Working knowledge of the wider Azure platform: identity, networking, security, and monitoring
Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills
Prior consulting experience (nice to have)
Background in C# and modern .NET development (nice to have)
Experience working with IaC, Terraform preferred (nice to have)
Experience using GenAI-assisted development tools (nice to have)
Must already reside in New Zealand with the relevant visas
Must consent to a Ministry of Justice criminal record check
