About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own parts of Thndr’s domains end to end, including project leadership, technical direction, and service health
- Lead cross-squad projects by breaking down ambiguous product requirements, sequencing work, coordinating contributors, removing blockers, and shipping
- Design scalable systems with idempotency, retries, sensible fallbacks, and contained failure modes
- Promote observability, small independently shippable pull requests, and measurable SLOs for critical flows
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams on what to build and why
- Partner with operations, CX, and compliance teams to support account opening, user issue resolution, and regulatory compliance
- Help expand domains into new markets beyond Egypt, the UAE, and the US
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with distributed systems
- Understanding of systems that scale and behavior under slow dependencies, backed-up queues, and mid-flight deployments
- Product-minded and impact-driven approach
- Project management and leadership skills, including scoping, sequencing, status communication, and bringing engineers along
- Confidence owning systems end to end from design through production and on-call
- Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn, Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Kubernetes
- Fintech experience appreciated
- Strong communication across engineering, product, operations, and compliance teams
