About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support implementation of the First Nation Mental Wellness Continuum Framework
  • Engage with partners across multiple jurisdictions
  • Work with regional Managers across designated regions
  • Design and execute a collaborative strategy with First Peoples Wellness Circle to build and support regional mental wellness capacity
  • Lead the team in understanding national and regional FNMWC implementation efforts
  • Coordinate understanding and application of Thunderbird Partnership Foundation and First Peoples Wellness Circle objectives and priorities
  • Maintain systems maps communicating treatment pathways
  • Manage a national database of stakeholders and partners
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and assure readiness, quality, and service delivery
  • Assess assigned projects and coordinate phases from initiation through completion
  • Develop and implement a personal and professional development plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration or relevant field with 5 years of work-related experience, or master’s degree in public administration or relevant field with 3 years of work-related experience
  • Experience working with Indigenous/First Nation communities, non-profit settings, and government entities
  • Excellent writing skills in English and clear communication ability
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office
  • Proficiency using Zoom and other platforms for hosting online meetings and events
  • Experience working with First Nations or an Indigenous organization
  • Knowledge of First Nations culture and customs, including natural healing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to function autonomously with minimal supervision; flexibility and adaptability to change
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, board members, and stakeholders
  • Public speaking and presentation skills, community engagement, and networking
  • Ability to network and build strong working relationships
  • Ability to travel and access worksites not accessible by public transit
