About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply metal to customer orders and process material according to work order specifications
  • Maintain processing equipment in a safe and clean condition
  • Maintain the processing area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Complete required information entry accurately
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
  • Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing
  • Set up equipment safely according to setup-note specifications
  • Process setup notes according to work order specifications
  • Verify products meet specifications and record measurements
  • Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications
  • Perform preventive equipment maintenance and general cleanup
  • Manage material identification tags

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be certified in the material handler position
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Basic math skills
  • Safety mindset
  • Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry (preferred)
  • Previous forklift experience (preferred)
  • Use of hand-held measuring tools (preferred)
  • Computer literate (preferred)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, which may include marijuana testing in accordance with applicable laws
