About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise on the technology and data behind business initiatives
- Navigate technology, data rights, and third-party dependencies for digital products and services
- Structure and negotiate SaaS, cloud services, software, data licensing, AI, implementation, professional services, and other technology agreements
- Translate technical realities and business objectives into deal structures and contractual terms
- Advise on intellectual property, data use, technology dependencies, service commitments, and liability
- Support technology and data aspects of acquisitions, investments, and other strategic transactions
- Collaborate with legal, business, technology, sourcing, vendor management, risk, and compliance teams
- Develop playbooks, templates, and contracting processes using AI and legal technology
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctoral Degree Required
- 5+ years of experience in commercial law drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, with significant experience in technology transactions
- Strong judgment on legal and commercial issues in technology contracting
- Curiosity and confidence to understand how technology works and how it will be used
- Ability to translate technology understanding into contracts
- Experience with AI, data, digital products, or other emerging technologies is a plus
- Financial services or other regulated-industry experience is a plus
