About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support origination, analysis, and execution of clean energy investments across Europe
  • Produce, develop, and review cash flow-based financial models for renewable energy generation projects, assets, and platforms
  • Understand and optimise project contractual structures
  • Define, document, and monitor project assumptions
  • Understand and analyse project SPV financial statements
  • Analyse financial model results and run sensitivities to assess investment cases
  • Draft investment proposals and investment committee presentations
  • Train Analysts and Associates in financial modelling and valuation
  • Support origination with renewable project developers in EU 27 economies and the UK
  • Execute acquisitions, exits, project financings, and divestments
  • Drive due diligence workstreams and project-manage transactions
  • Coordinate work products from external advisors and prepare marketing materials
  • Develop a proprietary transaction pipeline through a network of contacts
  • Sit on or support portfolio company boards and monitor KPIs, budgets, and strategic plans
  • Drive value creation initiatives including growth strategy, M&A, operational improvements, and capital structure optimisation
  • Track ESG and impact metrics relevant to energy transition
  • Liaise with renewable energy and clean tech organisations
  • Research sectors, countries, and market segments to identify investment opportunities
  • Monitor regulatory developments in renewable energy
  • Support fund-level marketing materials, VDD materials, business development, reporting, LP communications, and valuation processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience
  • Prior transaction experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, or private equity
  • Demonstrable equity investment track record from an investment management firm, investment bank, M&A advisory house, energy company, utility, IPP, or consultancy
  • Significant financial modelling expertise
  • Experience with platform strategies in energy transition sectors
  • Corporate finance or project finance transaction experience from origination to execution
  • Relevant power/energy industry experience and knowledge
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages preferred
  • International deal experience
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Demonstrable network of contacts among project sponsors
  • Strong academic background appropriate to the role; backgrounds in finance, engineering, accounting, legal, or STEM fields welcome
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Strategic approach, sound business judgment, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • No regulatory designation required
