About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and monitor private fund and joint venture equity investments across transportation, power, digital, social infrastructure, conventional and renewable energy
Represent Nuveen on portfolio company boards and LPACs
Lead sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, and structuring for new direct equity joint ventures, fund investments, and co-investments
Prepare for and attend sourcing, investment committee, and monitoring and surveillance meetings
Support portfolio manager with client reporting and business-partner inquiries
Perform quantitative and qualitative investment analysis for external clients and internal partners
Participate in governance matters including budgets, business plans, financing, capital raising, staffing, compensation, legal, and compliance
Conduct research and financial modeling throughout the investment life cycle
Engage business partners to identify value creation and downside protection opportunities
Maintain investment performance databases and files
Direct junior associates and analysts on performance analysis, financial modeling, and transaction structuring
Drive legal documentation, negotiation, and investment structuring
Source transactions through industry contacts and assess portfolio fit and team capacity
Lead underwriting and analysis for primary GP fund commitments and co-investments

Requirements

What you’ll need

University degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of institutional private equity investment experience
Emphasis on portfolio management, reporting and client relationship management across direct joint ventures, GP fund commitments, and co-investments
Prior investment experience with infrastructure assets
MBA or CFA preferred
Preferred 8+ years of institutional private equity investment experience with an emphasis on portfolio management
Prior experience with capital markets, credit, and junior capital structuring
Knowledge of infrastructure and energy investment markets, including trends, participants, and structure terms
Experience developing and using financial statement analysis and financial modeling
Strong knowledge of accounting and finance
Ability to monitor operating budgets and business plans
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work in a team-oriented, performance-based environment
Ability to work independently with limited oversight and manage deadlines
