About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply investment accounting policies and procedures to financial transactions under close supervision
- Work with asset management, portfolio management, and acquisition/disposition teams
- Assist with preparing month-end closing reports and subsidiary quarterly financial analytics
- Prepare GAAP work papers and supporting schedules for internal and external audits
- Compile joint-venture financial information for sales, acquisitions, debt refinancing, restructuring, and financial performance
- Document ad hoc financial inquiries for monthly and quarterly reports and provide management insight into underlying property activities
- Support calculations of unlevered and levered, gross and net portfolio performance returns and property internal rates of return
- Convert modified cash-basis accounting information from third-party management firms to accrual basis for fair-value GAAP financial statements
- Seek guidance from senior Investment Accountants on advanced issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- No experience required
- Solid knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Experience in an accounting role
- Real estate experience is a plus
- BS/BA in Accounting
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe and/or Yardi is a plus
- Excellent technical research, communication and writing skills
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Sedentary work physical requirement
