About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead internal integrated client teams to grow, retain, and deepen relationships
- Establish strategic approaches to growing the business and execute for profitable results
- Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to plan sponsors and consultants
- Identify, influence, and execute strategic visions for plan sponsors and TIAA
- Position the value of lifetime income to sell products and solutions
- Identify current and future client needs and plan to address opportunities
- Leverage analytics, investment knowledge, market knowledge, and financials to develop multi-year strategic plans
- Lead collaboration and execution of business strategy to maximize client outcomes
- Resolve complex issues and ensure overall client satisfaction
- Partner with Consultant Relations to strengthen TIAA’s position with consulting firms and consultants
- Mentor relationship management staff within the market and region
- Promote enterprise employer solutions and employee engagement with TIAA consultants and advisors
- Review client financials and meet with senior executives regarding long-term strategies
- Develop specialized product knowledge and financing expertise
- Lead client discussions on product positioning and adoption, manage profitability, and maintain competitive pricing
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience in institutional consultative sales and client relationship management
- Series 6 or 7 registration
- Series 63 registration
- 7+ years’ experience in institutional consultative sales and client relationship management preferred
- Proven track record of achieving significant sales results preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining executive, key influencer, and buyer relationships at client institutions preferred
- Technical expertise of financial products/services and TIAA or similar products and services preferred
- Experience mentoring sales/relationship management staff preferred
- Understanding of IRA, 403(b), 401(a)/(k), 457(b), and 457(f) defined contribution plan technical rules, nondiscrimination rules, and ERISA requirements preferred
- Advanced understanding of retirement plan design preferred
- Knowledge of defined benefit plans as they relate to TIAA’s business preferred
- Strong presentation skills preferred
- Ability to prepare executive summaries using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word preferred
- Sedentary work physical requirements
- University degree preferred
