About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead an integrated team of Wealth Management Advisors for an assigned territory
  • Cultivate and grow client relationships within the market
  • Execute strategic business plans to meet customer needs and strategic and financial goals
  • Oversee and manage an assigned group of Wealth Management Advisors
  • Grow and maintain client and participant relationships through increased wallet share, product appropriateness, and net promoter scores
  • Coach the team to adopt prescribed engagement practices and ensure a seamless client experience
  • Establish relationships across client touch points, including NCC, Retail Operations, and Technology, to advocate for client and participant needs
  • Ensure client-facing advisors use TIAA resources, including estate planning, portfolio management, and insurance planning
  • Evaluate and assign Advisors appropriate books of clients
  • Assist Advisors in reviewing planning and advice cases for complex client accounts
  • Implement strategies to increase market share
  • Assist leaders in setting strategy and direction for the wealth management group
  • Maintain knowledge of TIAA’s competitors in the individual and institutional landscape
  • Manage team leader performance through regular feedback and formal performance reviews
  • Foster manager engagement, motivation, and development
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional Institutional Retirement strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • FINRA licensing required: Series 7 and Series 66, or an equivalent combination of Series 63 and Series 65
  • University degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong emphasis on wealth management preferred
  • Active FINRA Series 24 license preferred; candidates without this license must obtain it within 90 days of hire
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to develop and grow talent within an organization
  • Strong track record of identifying and cultivating high-potential talent
  • Sedentary work physical requirement
