About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Customer Experience engineering domain together with Product, Design, and Data
- Own the domain’s multi-quarter roadmap aligned with Tibber’s business goals
- Lead 8–15 engineers across subteams, including a Staff Engineer and Tech Leads
- Own team health, performance, and growth
- Build an inclusive, transparent, and psychologically safe environment
- Grow the Staff Engineer and Tech Leads as leaders
- Be accountable for quality and reliable delivery across the Tibber app and customer companion
- Ensure engineers understand the purpose behind their work and balance delivery pace with quality and sustainability
- Maintain visibility into the domain’s technical state
- Partner with the Staff Engineer on technical direction and business alignment
- Lead the transition toward agentic engineering and responsible AI-powered customer experiences
- Contribute to engineering-wide ways of working, hiring, and onboarding
- Represent the domain across Tibber
- Report to the VP of Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams
- Experience ideally including leading around 10 engineers or more across multiple subteams
- Strong engineering background with experience building and shipping software
- Ability to hold credible technical conversations about mobile/app architecture and modern AI-driven product experiences
- Experience owning a consumer-facing product surface, ideally a mobile app at scale
- Experience leading a domain jointly with Product and Design
- Experience setting and executing multi-quarter direction in ambiguous environments
- Coaching, feedback, people leadership, and decision-making skills
- Experience leading engineers into agentic development, with demonstrable results
- Understanding of agentic development tools, workflows, and mindset changes
