About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with designing electrical systems for new construction and building renovations, including control wiring and circuit design, lighting design, and fire/security alarm design
  • Support arc flash and coordination studies
  • Conduct power quality analysis and research/examine structure-related data
  • Perform engineering calculations, proofreading, and copying of reports and specifications
  • Participate in construction site visits and field surveys of existing electrical systems
  • Work with industry experts and project teams on infrastructure projects across the Northeast

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Electrical or Power Engineering
  • Previous coursework or relevant experience in electrical system design, lighting design, or fire/security alarm design
  • Interest in pursuing the FE Exam and EIT certification
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling/visualization tools preferred
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or Python preferred
  • At least 2 years of completed coursework in a college-level academic program preferred
  • Previous internship experience in electrical design, consulting, or construction support preferred
