About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform and document inspections during all phases of installation and upfit
  • Inspect receiving chassis, receiving bodies, sub-assembly welds, electrical wiring, and final installations using documented specifications and drawings
  • Perform light-duty repairs and touchups on defects found during inspections
  • Document and process quality documentation
  • Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets
  • Look up drawings and build specifications in company network databases
  • Maintain a clean workspace
  • Perform root cause analysis for corrective actions issued to the Install department
  • Assist the Install and Parts departments as needed
  • Perform all work with a focus on safety

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Quality Technician or Inspector, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty truck industry
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical functions
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Ability to use basic tools for minor repairs and adjustments
  • Ability to work as part of a team and in unsupervised situations
  • Ability to work any shift as required by the Company
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in all Office applications
  • Proven track record in attendance
  • Ability to take direction from a Supervisor
  • Ability to work in an uncontrolled environment
  • Willingness to accept any task requested by a supervisor
