About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead mechanical design efforts for complex plant/building systems and site operations for heavy industrial sectors, including mining, mineral processing, aggregate, and metals
  • Design HVAC, plumbing, processing, ventilation, and process piping systems for heavy industrial facilities
  • Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction documentation
  • Lead mechanical and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Manage technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects from project conception through construction
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, and Architecture professionals
  • Mentor and develop less experienced team members
  • Conduct business development under the Seller-Doer approach
  • Contribute to marketing plans and cultivate relationships with stakeholders and client representatives
  • Track prospective opportunities, develop proposals, and deliver capabilities presentations
  • Participate in client consultations, site inspections, construction management duties, and industry conferences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) with ten or more years of progressive experience designing industrial mechanical systems, including ventilation and process piping
  • Working knowledge of project development processes and coordination with other disciplines during design and construction
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop less experienced professionals
  • Prior experience leading Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) reviews
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 10%, with occasional overnight travel
  • Professional registration in additional states is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or Plant 3D is advantageous
  • Experience creating air balance diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, equipment general arrangement drawings, and piping/HVAC plan drawings is advantageous
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
  • Must complete pre-employment background screening upon acceptance of a conditional offer
