About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own financial analysis and forecasting for the portfolio
  • Drive EBITDA growth initiatives and manage cash flow across 20+ child care entities
  • Support acquisition decisions and manage the outsourced accounting team based in India
  • Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting across 20+ locations, including consolidated and location-level P&L analysis
  • Identify variances, trends, and root causes and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards
  • Lead pricing, labor efficiency, vendor, and cost-management initiatives
  • Partner with operations and center leadership to improve margins
  • Benchmark center performance against the portfolio and industry standards
  • Own rolling cash flow forecasting, monitor working capital, AR/AP, and debt covenant compliance
  • Support banking relationships, loan draws, and lender reporting
  • Lead financial due diligence on acquisition targets
  • Build acquisition and integration models covering valuation, pro forma P&L, synergies, and payback
  • Present recommendations to ownership and leadership for acquisition decisions
  • Manage the outsourced accounting/bookkeeping team in India
  • Set and enforce monthly close calendars and SLAs
  • Review accounting outputs, train and guide the offshore team, and improve processes
  • Translate financial data into actionable language for Center Directors, franchisees, and field leaders
  • Build financial literacy tools and lead recurring finance review meetings
  • Ensure GAAP, statutory, and tax compliance
  • Establish internal controls and mitigate financial risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3-5 years in a senior finance role
  • Proven background serving as a Finance Director, Controller, or Senior Financial Manager within a for-profit, competitive market environment
  • Experience supporting a multi-unit, multi-location business with $50M+ in revenue and 20+ operating locations
  • Demonstrated experience managing an outsourced, offshore, or shared-services accounting function
  • Hands-on experience with M&A: financial due diligence, valuation, and post-acquisition integration
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct
  • Experience with BI or dashboarding tools
  • Track record of driving measurable EBITDA or margin improvement
  • Experience in franchise operations, private-equity-backed businesses, or education/childcare is a strong plus
  • Ability to ensure adherence to GAAP, statutory requirements, and local/corporate tax laws
  • Ability to establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls
  • Ability to evaluate and mitigate corporate financial risks, manage commercial insurance policies and credit lines
