About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a data-driven, comprehensive coaching strategy supporting retention and improved performance of Residents and BCTR paraeducators
  • Communicate and collaborate with partners, principals, City Schools staff, and BCTR team staff to support paraeducator development
  • Identify innovative solutions to improve teachers’ overall performance and meet contract goals
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of Pre-Service Training for traditional and apprenticeship pathways
  • Design Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards-aligned, content-specific professional development sessions
  • Partner with the BCTR team to provide a supportive, engaging, high-quality, joyful, and data-informed program experience
  • Support TNTP teacher development initiatives and help craft long-term teacher development strategies and services
  • Travel up to and including 40%, including 4–5 days on-site per week during peak season

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least three years of teaching experience
  • Prior experience developing and coaching teachers
  • Proven track record of building trusting relationships with other adults
  • Experience with deeper learning, school design, innovative models, and/or standards-aligned project-based learning, as well as cultural proficiency (preferred)
  • Previous experience designing and facilitating professional development for teachers
  • Experience supporting multilingual learners (MLs) or students who receive special education services and knowledge on best practices to support these students (preferred)
  • Strong creative instincts to develop new approaches, programs or initiatives with limited guidance and historical precedent
  • Ability to track and analyze data on teacher and student performance to uncover trends and act strategically and effectively to improve results
  • Commitment to constant learning and improvement in your own work and the work of others
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.
