About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support systems engineering activities across major engineering programmes.
  • Capture, manage and maintain system requirements and ensure full traceability.
  • Develop system architectures, functional breakdown structures and interface definitions.
  • Coordinate information across multidisciplinary teams including magnet design, cryogenics, electrical systems, instrumentation and plant integration.
  • Work with programme and technical leads to support informed engineering decisions.
  • Support technical reviews and readiness reviews.
  • Identify, manage and track technical risks.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies for complex systems.
  • Define and maintain critical interfaces between teams, suppliers and external partners.
  • Support continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, tools and methodologies.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience applying systems engineering methodologies within complex engineering environments.
  • A track record of requirements management, architecture development and verification activities.
  • Experience working on technically complex products, systems or programmes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience using requirements management tools.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom, proof of identity and references required as part of pre-employment screening.
