About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the annual and quarterly retail marketing calendar across Tonal's owned and operated stores and retail partner locations
  • Set the retail channel plan aligned to sales periods, product launches, and brand moments
  • Provide retail channel input on creative, messaging, and format requirements
  • Partner with Marketing and Growth on geo marketing plans tied to store trade areas
  • Feed door-level performance and local market insight into growth and lifecycle planning
  • Identify growth opportunities across the retail footprint and propose incremental-revenue programs
  • Build Tonal's corporate and field retail communications function from the ground up
  • Establish recurring communication rhythms, channels, templates, and calendars
  • Partner with Learning & Development so communications and training reinforce each other
  • Own corporate-level relationships with retail partners and manage the operating rhythm
  • Prepare and lead retail partner business reviews
  • Own recurring retail partner marketing updates and campaign resource kits
  • Support retail partner onboarding and launch
  • Coordinate with Field Leaders to connect corporate programs and field execution
  • Own planograms, seasonal resets, and visual merchandising standards
  • Ensure planogram compliance and brand standards across retail locations
  • Manage print vendors, production specifications, timelines, distribution, and installation
  • Manage print and fixture vendors against deliverables, budgets, and deadlines
  • Maintain the retail asset library
  • Track and report retail marketing KPIs including traffic, demos, conversion, and return on ad spend
  • Manage co-op and program budgets and joint planning with retail marketing counterparts
  • Conduct competitive landscape analysis and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Manage agency relationships and hold external partners accountable to deliverables and performance benchmarks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a retail, channel, or partner marketing role
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing retail marketing programs at scale
  • Experience across both owned retail and partner retail channels
  • Experience building a program, process, or communications function from scratch
  • Exceptional written communication
  • Hands-on print production and vendor management
  • Planogram and visual merchandising fluency across multiple store formats
  • Experience managing partner relationships and co-op or program budgets
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable presenting to senior internal and partner stakeholders
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Salesforce
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in consumer electronics, fitness, or premium lifestyle categories is extra credit
  • Experience with high-consideration, demo-dependent products above a $1,500 price point is extra credit
  • Experience building a retail or field communications program from scratch is extra credit
  • Experience in a revenue-share, dealer, or franchise retail model is extra credit
  • Familiarity with retail media networks such as Best Buy Ads and Target Roundel is extra credit
  • Background working with creative agencies and managing end-to-end production workflows is extra credit
  • Exposure to inside sales, direct sales, or a commercial target is extra credit
  • Legally authorized to work in the US and/or Canada
