About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and own the marketing data infrastructure supporting new businesses and companies acquired through M&A
  • Track paid advertising performance and translate it into LTV, ROAS, CAC, funnel conversion, and lead value metrics
  • Analyze data, build models, test hypotheses, identify root causes, develop prototypes, forecast performance, create Tableau reports, and write SQL scripts
  • Set up and integrate Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other paid advertising platforms
  • Rapidly assess and integrate marketing data for newly acquired companies, establishing tracking, attribution, and reporting
  • Define consistent, accurate, and strategically aligned metrics across businesses
  • Develop actionable descriptive and diagnostic analytics recommendations for marketing leaders and business owners
  • Partner with the Business Analyst, New Businesses and Senior Business Analyst focused on acquisitions
  • Map marketing processes and channel journeys to data flows across acquisition, engagement, and revenue generation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, conversion, revenue, client and talent experience, operations, systems, tools, communication, and cash usage
  • Use Generative AI tools to accelerate analysis and automate reporting workflows
  • Onboard into Toptal and learn its history, culture, and vision
  • Shadow key teams to understand new businesses and paid acquisition channels
  • Assess tracking, attribution, metrics, reports, dashboards, and models, identifying gaps and discrepancies
  • Support business leaders with paid performance insights and reports for leadership meetings
  • Deliver initial marketing data infrastructure and ROAS/LTV reporting for new businesses
  • Standardize LTV, ROAS, and other metric definitions across new businesses and Toptal
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis and establish a repeatable marketing data onboarding playbook
  • Inform strategic initiatives, goals, priorities, performance indicators, budget allocation, and channel strategy
  • Help build the marketing analytics function for new businesses and M&A

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, analytics, or business intelligence, with a focus on marketing analytics
  • Experience analyzing paid advertising performance and translating it into LTV, CAC, and ROAS metrics
  • Experience building or owning marketing data infrastructure, including tracking, attribution, data pipelines, and reporting
  • Strong background in math, science, finance, engineering, or statistics and deep business insight
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or PowerBI
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Hands-on experience using Generative AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT for analysis, automation, and reporting
  • Experience with exploratory data analysis, prototyping, hypothesis testing, root cause analysis, process modeling, forecasting, predictive modeling, metric definition, and marketing performance measurement
  • Track record of connecting data and analytics to marketing strategy, financial performance, and operations
  • Working knowledge of probability and statistics
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to explain complex issues simply and intuitively, challenge assumptions, communicate limitations, and flag blind spots
  • Strong technical background in marketing data infrastructure and Google products, particularly Google Analytics and Google Ads
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and manage varied challenges, deadlines, and contacts
  • Must be a world-class individual contributor
