About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead an engineering team responsible for continuous delivery of customer value
Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to set priorities, manage work in progress, and provide technical direction
Participate in architectural discussions and technical design reviews
Coach team members on problem analysis, estimating, software design, development, and testing within an Agile methodology
Drive and develop Agile development processes with a focus on quality and lean principles
Champion AI-assisted development practices using tools such as Claude Code and similar automation tooling
Support department-level objectives and process improvements to increase velocity and software quality
Manage and develop team members through goal setting, mentoring, technical skill building, and domain knowledge expansion

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience working within a team-based event-driven distributed microservices environment
5+ years of experience managing a software team and providing technical direction to team members
Demonstrated technical depth in architectural conversations, design decisions, debugging, and resolving complex issues
Experience leading software and quality engineering teams using Agile or Lean practices such as Scrum or Kanban
Experience identifying, implementing, and measuring team processes to improve quality, flow, and developer experience
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar
Track record of integrating AI into engineering workflows to drive productivity
Experience working closely with or managing quality-focused team members on projects and support requests
Experience creating or driving best practices around automated unit testing
