About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review operator requirements and test specifications and turn them into clear test cases
- Prepare test environments and run certification and validation tests
- Test software before it is submitted for certification
- Use Python and the in-house Jarvis system to automate test cases and repetitive tasks
- Reproduce and analyse issues reported by operators or certification labs
- Document bugs clearly, including relevant test conditions and supporting information
- Share bugs with development teams
- Follow up with developers as they investigate issues
- Verify fixes and carry out regression tests
- Work with certification colleagues, testers and developers across locations
- Occasionally clarify findings with external labs
- Gradually take ownership of selected certification activities
- Contribute ideas to improve tools and processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Software Engineering, ICT, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a computer science focus, Electronics Engineering with a strong software interest, or a related technical discipline
- Equivalent training or relevant experience is also welcome
- Basic Python knowledge and an interest in using it to build or improve software solutions
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- Analytical, structured approach to solving problems
- Patience to investigate and reproduce technical issues
- Curiosity about software, technology and testing
- Motivation to learn a new technical domain
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Comfortable working independently while keeping colleagues informed
- Openness to using AI tools to work efficiently
- Experience or familiarity with Linux is an advantage
- Exposure to software testing, validation or test automation is an advantage
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools is an advantage
- Interest in broadcast technology, DVB or satellite technology is an advantage
- Knowledge of operator certification or the TV industry is an advantage
- CV must be submitted in English
