About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Head of Finance in designing, implementing, and operating the Company's Finance and Safeguarding Framework
  • Manage the daily safeguarding reconciliation process, including internal and external reconciliations and the four-eye approval process
  • Highlight potential risk issues or discrepancies for escalation
  • Coordinate regulatory and statutory reporting and oversee day-to-day reconciliations
  • Assist in producing dashboards and reports for governance committees
  • Oversee finance-related activities performed by third parties
  • Facilitate internal and external audits, provide timely information, manage query resolution, and maintain process documentation
  • Identify automation and continuous improvement opportunities to improve reporting quality and reduce manual processes
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Maintain a strong culture of compliance and operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional certifications (e.g. ACA, ACCA or equivalent) required
  • Prior experience within the financial services industry, or a comparable professional advisory background with significant exposure to regulated financial institutions, ideally within a multi-jurisdictional environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience in safeguarding compliance, regulations, and finance management frameworks within a Payment Institution or broader financial services sector
  • Experience in managing third-party relationships and overseeing outsourced finance functions
  • Proven track record in managing financial reporting and complex reconciliations
  • Demonstrable aptitude for leveraging AI tools to drive operational efficiency and process optimisation
  • Strong analytical acumen and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to a "right first time" delivery
