About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the complete data lifecycle from ingestion and transformation to modelling, analysis, and reporting
Design, build, and maintain reliable pipelines integrating external data into the cloud data warehouse
Develop, test, document, and maintain scalable data models
Transform complex datasets into dashboards, reports, and actionable business insights
Ensure data integrity and reliability from source systems through final reporting
Follow version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and controlled deployment processes
Leverage AI coding agents while maintaining accountability for code quality and production readiness
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into technical solutions
Communicate priorities, trade-offs, and recommendations
Optimise data workflows, system performance, and overall data platform reliability
Independently take business requirements from concept through production deployment
Report to the CTO within the Data Platform team

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience developing data pipelines and data models within modern cloud-based data environments
Advanced SQL skills and strong expertise in data modelling
Solid Python programming skills for data ingestion, automation, and pipeline development
Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools and scheduled data pipelines
Experience building dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using modern BI tools
Strong understanding of Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
Practical experience using AI coding agents and validating AI-generated outputs
Ability to independently manage projects from requirements gathering through production deployment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have: Infrastructure as Code and cloud infrastructure management experience
Nice to have: Knowledge of identity resolution and Master Data Management
Nice to have: Understanding of data governance, PII handling, and data masking
Nice to have: Experience optimising cloud data warehouse performance and managing infrastructure costs
