About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce the Group's IFRS annual and half-yearly listed financial statements and annual report
  • Lead year-end and half-year external audit and review processes
  • Prepare and present Audit Committee papers
  • Oversee production and filing of subsidiary statutory accounts across UK and international entities
  • Own the Group's cashflow forecasting process and provide liquidity, capital allocation and capital structure analysis
  • Support CFO and Board decision-making and work with treasury on execution
  • Act as the Group's primary technical accounting authority
  • Research and form positions on complex and judgemental accounting areas
  • Implement new accounting standards
  • Present conclusions to senior management, the Audit Committee, auditors and advisors
  • Lead one-off projects across the business
  • Contribute to monthly reporting and annual budgeting
  • Own specific balance sheet, cashflow and working capital areas
  • Build and support relationships with auditors, loan providers and banking partners
  • Work with legal and CoSec to meet reporting requirements on time
  • Lead Finance's contribution to the Group's material controls framework under Provision 29
  • Maintain and develop accounting policies for acquisitions and legal structure changes
  • Guide reporting systems and process changes to protect the control environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
  • Meaningful industry experience within a listed business
  • Comfortable with reporting obligations and scrutiny in a listed environment
  • Consistent record of delivering to deadlines
  • Extensive IFRS expertise and strong technical accounting grounding
  • Experience with multi-currency consolidations, share-based payments, EPS, impairment, revenue recognition, leases and business combinations
  • Practice-based candidates operating at Director level or above with substantial experience advising listed groups
  • Experience researching and implementing new accounting or reporting standards
  • Analytical and thorough when reviewing financial information
  • Proven people management experience leading, motivating and developing high-performing teams across multiple disciplines
  • Strong project management and delegation skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Openness to occasional travel to Paris and Edinburgh offices
