About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the advanced manufacturing engineering strategy and transformation across a multi-site manufacturing footprint
- Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing engineering professionals and subject matter experts
- Support new product introductions and ongoing product enhancement initiatives
- Lead AMEs supporting a business with over $1B in annual revenue
- Develop manufacturing concepts and processes using DFM/DFA, FMEA, 3P, 7-Ways, and Lean principles
- Evaluate and implement innovative, cost-effective, and safe manufacturing processes
- Improve processes involving welding, brazing, automation, coating, conveyance, refrigerant vacuum and charging, and general assembly
- Develop manufacturing planning, tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments
- Provide capital equipment project governance across multiple manufacturing facilities
- Resolve manufacturing process and product design problems through analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning
- Develop manufacturing flows, workstation layouts, organization, and station controls
- Collaborate with plant manufacturing, quality engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams
- Support daily management systems and design for manufacturability initiatives
- Manage projects, estimate time and resources, maintain communication, and track progress using Gantt charts, matrices, and maps
- Support long-range business planning
- Establish best practices and benchmarking management systems across AME/ME and other functions
- Lead deployment and maturity of Total Productive Maintenance across sites to improve manufacturing equipment OEE
- Support tooling asset management maturity and mitigate company- and supplier-owned tooling supply risks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering or Industrial discipline
- At least 10 years of manufacturing work experience required
- Experience within an industrial environment preferred
- New product launch and project management experience
- Knowledge of advanced quality and design for assembly and manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge of life cycle cost analysis, dimensional capability analysis, and capacity analysis
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance industry best practices
- Experience with the full life cycle of capital equipment and tooling projects
- Experience with multi-site manufacturing operations
- Experience developing team members in technical and soft skills
- Basic computer skills
- Experience speaking in front of senior leaders and executives
- Preferred: automation, welding, brazing process, wastewater treatment, coating, refrigerant management, and assembly experience
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50–75% of the time
- Safety-sensitive role; may require passing additional drug screening
