About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market
- Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments
- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair applied chiller systems and associated HVAC equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Evaluate system operation and recommend repairs, upgrades, or efficiency improvements
- Communicate with customers and internal team stakeholders
- Perform work in compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and company standards
- Support emergency service calls and respond to customer issues promptly
- Maintain company tools, test equipment, service vehicle, and parts
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school required
- Typically requires at least 10 plus years of experience in HVAC
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working proficiency with a handheld computer, such as a smartphone or iPad
- Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- EPA Certification preferred, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer
- Experience servicing applied chillers, large-tonnage HVAC systems, or commercial/industrial mechanical equipment preferred
- Experience with centrifugal, screw, scroll, or absorption chillers preferred
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, motors, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, piping schematics, and technical service literature
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, gauges, and diagnostic instruments
- Familiarity with building automation systems and chiller controls
- Safety-sensitive role; additional drug screening may be required
