About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start up HVAC systems
  • Apply knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts
  • Plan, analyze, and complete assigned projects and activities on time
  • Use hand tools and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to install equipment and systems
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes
  • Perform site surveys, replacements, modifications, and start-up activities
  • Prepare for on-site installations by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating work with other trades
  • Maintain assigned inventory, company equipment, tools, and vehicles
  • Record parts, materials, labor, and other cost data; return unused resources
  • Provide training and follow-up training at customer sites
  • Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel
  • Complete job paperwork, daily time and progress records, reports, and files
  • Provide technical support and serve as direct customer contact
  • Service assigned products and equipment while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Stay current on Trane products and direct digital control system installation
  • Inspect vehicles and maintain vehicle service and repair records
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability for company assets
  • Travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays
  • Work overtime and weeks as business requirements dictate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically at least 2-5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Technical School or formal training preferred
  • State Contractor Licenses preferred (e.g. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer)
  • Safety-sensitive role may require additional drug screening
