About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design hardware and software for small building automation systems
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to assigned projects
  • Design cost-effective control solutions meeting project requirements
  • Design comfort control and automation systems
  • Obtain and review contract documents, mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, and equipment submittals
  • Conduct on-site project surveys within the district to determine controls solutions
  • Create installation drawings, submittal drawings, and sequences of operations
  • Transition project documents to the field
  • Perform programming responsibilities as needed
  • Create as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals
  • Assist with transition of documents to the service department
  • Produce project deliverables within project requirements and estimates
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communicating with staff, and providing feedback and solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Engineering Technology, or equivalent/related experience
  • Preferred HVAC industry experience such as technician, project management, or estimating, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls preferred
  • CAD program experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of electrical drawings and schematics preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team and in a structured environment
  • Ability to maintain well-organized records
  • Some travel to construction sites within the district
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required
