About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Commission, program, set up graphics and communications links, perform end-to-end testing, troubleshoot, and service assigned projects
  • Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation, and job close-out requirements
  • Act as the direct customer contact for servicing products and equipment
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of Trane products, including installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Collaborate with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations teams
  • Generate regular reports on completed invoiced work orders
  • Foster strong customer relationships through exceptional customer service
  • Coordinate with field service representatives, regional service leaders, senior technicians, and customers
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
  • Travel to specified post code areas across northern England
  • Support Trane UK Ltd customers in healthcare, process manufacturing, education, and office facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in service or field-based technician role
  • Strong knowledge of customer service principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in using apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry an advantage
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and be a good team player
  • Able to cover planned standby and call outs on weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays, including travel and overnight stays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • UK driver's licence
  • Right to Work in the UK
