About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up advanced HVAC systems supporting mission-critical data centers and high-reliability facilities
  • Coordinate with service leaders, project managers, and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Serve as direct customer contact for chiller products and equipment on assigned projects
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Work with data center partners in high-stress situations to eliminate downtime
  • Provide coaching and training to less experienced technicians
  • Support mission-critical activities, including procedural documentation, problem-solving in zero-downtime environments, and service-level-agreement awareness
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
  • Record asset use, wear, and condition
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers on new facility installations and retrofits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC providing systems-level expertise
  • Proven experience starting up air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, including system preparation, commissioning procedures, operational verification, post-start performance checks, and repairs
  • Proficient use of software to connect to and check chiller operation
  • Data Center experience preferred, including familiarity with industry-standard L2–L5 project phases
  • BMS experience preferred
  • Technical School or formal training preferred
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
  • EPA Certification required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Willingness to travel overnight to other areas as needed, potentially extensively
  • Ability to pass additional drug screening for this safety-sensitive role
