About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise HVAC Field Technicians supporting mission-critical data centers and high-reliability facilities
  • Train and develop HVAC Field Technicians
  • Provide technical advice and guidance
  • Assist with scheduling, organizing, and dispatching HVAC Field Technicians
  • Assist the Service Manager with recommendations for hiring and firing staff
  • Maintain vehicle service records, manuals, repair scheduling, and maintenance services
  • Work with the Project Manager to prepare for on-site installations and repairs
  • Examine building layouts, anticipate difficulties, gather materials, and coordinate on-site work
  • Evaluate area safety needs and requirements
  • Provide safety feedback and recommendations to service technicians
  • Assist with implementing safety policies, procedures, and training
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up advanced HVAC systems through supervised technicians
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers on new facility installations and retrofits
  • Support performance, service reliability, maximum uptime, and customer confidence in critical environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in HVAC, providing expertise in systems-level knowledge
  • Data Center experience preferred, including familiarity with industry-standard L2–L5 project phases
  • Working knowledge of HVAC products, systems, electronics and pneumatic controls
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight to other areas as needed, potentially including extensive travel
