About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Start and commission new HVAC/controls systems
  • Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems
  • Apply knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques
  • Serve as the direct customer contact for assigned products, equipment, projects, and systems
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Coordinate with team leaders and customers on on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and direct digital control systems
  • Enforce safety standards
  • Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred
  • Universal EPA License preferred
  • Technical School or formal training preferred
  • Ability to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays
