About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Start and commission new HVAC and controls systems
  • Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems
  • Service products and equipment on assigned projects at customer locations
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate with the team leader and customer to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Maintain current knowledge of Trane direct digital control products and their installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
  • Enforce high safety standards
  • Record the use, wear, and condition of company-issued and procured assets
  • Maintain flexibility for overtime, business-required weeks, and occasional overnight stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, or multiple smaller infractions/preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred
  • EPA preferred
  • Ability to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays
  • Safety-sensitive role may require additional drug screening
