About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Commission, program, set up graphics and communications links for assigned projects
  • Perform end-to-end testing, troubleshooting and servicing
  • Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation and job closeout requirements
  • Serve as the direct customer contact for assigned projects
  • Service products and equipment at customer locations
  • Identify, diagnose and repair equipment and systems
  • Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials and synchronize on-site work
  • Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and direct digital control systems
  • Enforce safety standards
  • Record use, wear and condition of company-issued and procured assets
  • Maintain flexibility for overtime, business-required weeks and occasional overnight stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with a handheld computer (e.g., smartphone, iPad)
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Previous experience with DDC control systems preferred
  • Technical school or formal training preferred
  • Ability to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays
  • Safety-sensitive role may require additional drug screening
