About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start and commission new HVAC and controls systems
- Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems
- Apply knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques
- Serve as the direct customer contact at assigned customer locations
- Service products and equipment on assigned projects
- Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems
- Coordinate with the team leader and customer to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
- Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
- Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and direct digital control system installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
- Enforce safety standards
- Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions
- Work flexibly to meet customer and business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Typically at least 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred
- Technical School or formal training preferred
- EPA preferred
- Ability to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays
- Safety-sensitive role may require passing additional drug screening
