About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Start and commission new HVAC and control systems
- Diagnose and repair environmental-control systems
- Apply knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and control and mechanical techniques in commercial settings
- Serve as direct customer contact and service products and equipment on assigned projects
- Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
- Coordinate with the team leader and customer to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs
- Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
- Maintain current knowledge of Trane products, including installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems
- Enforce safety standards
- Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions
- Work overtime and occasional overnight stays as business requires
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Typically at least 3–5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working proficiency with handheld computers, such as smartphones and iPads
- Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Previous experience with DDC control systems preferred
- Technical School or formal training preferred
- EPA certification preferred
