About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start up HVAC systems
  • Apply knowledge of air conditioning theory, welding, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts
  • Plan, analyze, and complete assigned projects and activities in a timely manner
  • Use hand tools and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes
  • Perform site surveys, replacements, modifications, and start-up work
  • Prepare for on-site installations by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating with other trades
  • Maintain assigned company equipment and document related activities
  • Provide customer-site training and follow-up training
  • Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel
  • Complete job paperwork, including daily time, progress, and duration, and maintain files
  • Submit required paperwork and reports promptly
  • Provide technical support to customers on assigned projects
  • Serve as direct customer contact and service products and equipment at customer locations
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems
  • Maintain vehicle service records, manuals, repairs, and maintenance schedules
  • Inspect tools and equipment for signs of wear
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets
  • Work overtime and varying weeks as business requirements dictate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Preferably 2–5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation
  • Technical school or formal training preferred
  • Welding and pipefitting experience preferred
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
  • State contractor licenses are a plus, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel regularly with occasional overnight stays
  • Safety-sensitive role; may require additional drug screening
