About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined commercial market
  • Install, commission, diagnose, repair, and start up HVAC systems
  • Apply knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts
  • Plan, analyze, and complete assigned projects and activities on time
  • Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems using hand tools
  • Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes
  • Perform site surveys, replacements, modifications, and start-up activities
  • Prepare for on-site installations by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating with other trades
  • Maintain assigned company equipment and document related activities
  • Provide training and follow-up training at customer sites
  • Provide sales leads to appropriate personnel
  • Complete job paperwork, including daily time, progress, duration, and file maintenance
  • Submit required paperwork and reports on time
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Represent the company as the direct customer contact and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain vehicles, service records, manuals, repairs, and maintenance schedules
  • Inspect tools and equipment for wear
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability for company-issued and procured assets
  • Travel regularly with occasional overnight stays
  • Work overtime and weeks as business requirements dictate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Preferably 2-5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required
  • State Contractor Licenses are a plus, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer
  • Technical School or formal training preferred
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive role and pass additional drug screening if required
