About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined commercial market
  • Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems in commercial environments
  • Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
  • Serve as direct customer contact and manage products and equipment on assigned projects
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems at customer locations
  • Use cutting-edge software, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions
  • Support customers across healthcare, process manufacturing, education, and office complex facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Good standing as member of UA Local 787
  • Minimum of 5 plus years of experience in HVAC
  • Technical School or formal training is preferred
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Red Seal in HVAC (313A), required
  • Gas 1 ticket required
  • Ability to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt
  • Ability to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots
  • Ability to twist the trunk of the body 90 degrees in each direction
  • Ability to squat and touch the floor with both hands
  • Ability to reach hands over the head
  • Ability to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
  • Ability to regularly use hands and fingers, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders
  • Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs. regularly, up to 40 lbs. frequently, and more than 40 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to safely use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less
  • Ability to maneuver confined access areas as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal
  • Ability to routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally up to 50 feet or more
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions, around moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical shock risks, noisy operating equipment, and other variable environmental conditions
