About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Energy Services and Controls business in the Dakotas Area
- Manage all aspects of the business with responsibility for execution and targeted profitability
- Drive contracting profitability and achieve Annual Operating Plan priorities
- Monitor contracting personnel effectiveness and efficiency against customer service and operating plan goals
- Support the Area General Manager and Regional Contracting Leader in delivering business results and sharing vision
- Collaborate with other business streams and functional leaders
- Organize and schedule assigned personnel
- Identify and prioritize projects and plan jobs in detail
- Directly supervise Energy Services and Controls fulfillment personnel
- Serve as the primary interface among customers, vendors, subcontractors, sales, fulfillment, and internal experts
- Investigate customer concerns, implement corrective actions, and communicate with customers and staff
- Maintain and improve customer relationships while pursuing project development and sales opportunities
- Review and validate contracts and estimates through risk analysis and risk planning
- Analyze customer data, project data, and implementation issues before accepting projects
- Lead local operations safety efforts and maintain a safety-first work culture
- Build relationships across sales, service, equipment, and leadership departments
- Lead hiring and onboarding of new project administrators
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years previous experience in Commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
- Experience and knowledge in contracting processes associated with installation of building automation systems and mechanical/HVAC projects preferred
- Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to partner with leadership to drive business results
- Proven track record of two initiatives that improved business performance
- Change management, coaching, and team development experience
- Proven upward and downward communication experience with diverse audiences
- Minimum 3 years supporting business needs in a customer service role
- Leadership experience with direct reports and cross-functional teams
- At least three documented instances of leadership success
- Ability to hold individuals accountable for performance and outcomes
- Expert resource planning and contingency planning skills
- Proven experience aligning business goals with team objectives
- Minimum 2 years identifying problems, challenges, gaps, or incorrect processes and providing solutions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals and cross-functional teams at all organizational levels
- Ability to pass additional drug screening for this safety-sensitive role
