About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support daily assembly operations with manufacturing engineers
  • Observe and document manufacturing processes and workflows
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support corrective actions
  • Update work instructions, process documentation, and assembly procedures
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects
  • Collect and analyze production data
  • Assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing
  • Support process improvements and error-proofing solutions
  • Assist with assembly fixture, tooling, and workstation improvement projects
  • Support equipment installation, testing, and validation
  • Work with maintenance personnel on equipment operation and reliability practices
  • Participate in ergonomic and workplace organization initiatives
  • Assist with manufacturing and assembly quality investigations
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and inspections
  • Track project activities, action items, and progress updates
  • Support new product introduction and engineering change implementation
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation
  • Maintain an active presence on the production floor
  • Work directly with operators to learn assembly processes and identify improvement opportunities
  • Participate in safety and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Completion of sophomore year preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing operations
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous manufacturing, maintenance, fabrication, or skilled trades experience preferred
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or AutoCAD preferred
  • Experience working in team-based environments preferred
  • Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and machinery while following all safety requirements
  • Safety Sensitive role may require passing additional drug screening
